On This is Art Club! we are looking at the art principle of emphasis and contrast and how artists use this principle to grab our attention. Press play above to see a sneak peek of the show where we look at the work of some award-wnning artists.
Plus, there's puppets, still life in studio with Shane and Una Sealy and some doggy portraits with Ross too.
First up, This is Art Club! makes a special trip to Galway City to meet This is Art! winners and students from St Joseph's Special School. Under the guidance of artist Lara Luxardi, they work together to create their very own cyanotype prints inspired by their school garden.
Joining us in studio is Una Sealy, RHA who leads a still life drawing session with a group of young artists. She guides the young artists on how to choose a composition and delivers some tips and tricks on how to introduce contrast into their artwork through colour and texture.
We meet another young artist from Galway, Ruadhan who loves to design, create and build personalities for his puppets. He invites TIA! into his workshop to see his newest puppet come to life.
And we join Ross who is out and about with some furry friends making spectacular dog portraits.
After you watch the show we know that you will be keen to create and this is your friendly reminder to enter This is Art! 2024.
The all-island art competition is open to everyone from 0 to 18. Create, Snap and Upload your work to rte.ie/thisisart.
