It wasn't until he moved to Ireland that he was introduced to contemporary dance at the Dublin Youth Academy at the age of 18, turning his passion into a profession and starring in productions with the Irish Modern Dance Theatre.
Since then, then he has studied at the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance, in Austria, and he’s toured his choreography in Ireland, Brussels and across Europe.
His debut hour long show Ówe played at the Irish Arts Centre in New York in 2022.

Working through themes such as identity, representation of the Black body, and sexuality, Mufutau is back with his new work Impasse, a two-performer piece which attempts to understand the politics of the Black body in contemporary western society.
He’ll be taking it to the Project Arts Centre, Dublin from Fri 24th — Sat 25th May as part of this year's Dublin Dance Festival - find out more here.
