Marty Morrissey set to party with RTÉ Concert Orchestra

They'll be performing together for the first time in concerts set for Dublin on September 26 and Galway on September 27.

Audiences on those nights can expect great sporting themes, chat, clips, interviews with sporting guests as well as Marty sharing some of his own memories.

On Thursday September 26 at the National Concert Hall in Dublin, they'll be joined by sporting legends Robbie Henshaw, Kevin McManamon, Bernard Dunne, Brian Kerr and Rob Heffernan.

As well as chatting with Marty, Kevin McManamon is going to sing a tune with the orchestra and Robbie Henshaw is going to play a tune on the accordion along with his family!

Then for the Leisureland concert on Friday September 27, Rob Heffernan features again as will Joe Connolly, who captained the Galway hurling team in the 80s, Johnny Glynn, who captained Galway United when they won the FAI Cup back in 1991 and Ros na Rún actor Macdara Ó Fátharta.

And the fantastic music will include themes from The Sunday Game and Match of the Day, Put Em Under Pressure, Chariots of Fire, You’ll Never Walk Alone, We are the Champions, From Clare to Here, Nessun Dorma and lots more sport-related tunes to get the blood pumping!
