The documentary explores Ireland’s territorial waters and cold-water coral reefs hidden in the canyons and embarks on a dramatic journey with the Marine Institute of Ireland to the Porcupine Bank, to examine the role of weather buoys in the deep Atlantic.

Nightsleeper, 9.00pm, BBC One
This promises to be a cracking new series. It's a fast-paced thriller, starring Joe Cole, Alexandra Roach, David Threlfall and Sharon Small.
It's a bit of a mash-up of 24 and Speed. Like the former, it’s set in real-time. Like the latter, it's about trying to stop a train (rather than a bus). And not just any old locomotive.
A train is taken over by cyber terrorists on a night-time journey from Glasgow to London, leaving an off-duty cop on board to team up with the acting technical director at the National Cyber Security Centre in a bid to beat the bad guys.
But with no idea of who they are fighting and a few other passengers who may not be as innocent as they look, it seems they are in for a long night.
The Dog House, 8.00pm, Channel 4
The canine crew return for a sixth season.
Jittery retriever Pipet, who's been spooked by some fireworks, arrives at Woodgreen. Will she panic when she meets Tom and Ayesha?
Despite his name, Wolf the malamute is a big softie at heart, but he doesn't fall in love easily.
And it's a clash of the titans when nine-year-old Helena meets Zeus the Shih Tzu.
Britain's Atomic Bomb Scandal, 9.00pm, Channel 4
This documentary explores the long-term repercussions of atomic bomb tests in the 1950s and 1960s on both the servicemen present, who often had no training or protective gear, and their descendants.
From a host of cancers to cardiovascular disease and a surprisingly high number of children born suffering from birth defects or auto-immune conditions, many veterans believe their exposure to these tests caused their poor health.
Junior Eurovision 2024, 8.30pm, TG4
Louise Cantillon travels around the country to find talented young singers aged between 10 and 14 who could be Ireland's next singing superstar.
Hundreds will apply, but only 10 will be chosen for the latter stages. This 10 will go on to compete in-studio for the chance to sing for Ireland in this year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
Who will be the chosen one? It is up to judges Niamh Ní Chróinín, Tadhg Griffin and special guests Niamh Kavanagh, Brooke Scullion and Linda Martin (above) to decide.
Black Widow, 9.00pm, Sky Documentaries & NOW
A tale steeped in mystery and deception, this three-parter tells the story of how three male victims were deceived, defrauded, and abused by Dena before she was finally caught and sent to prison in 2003.
Following Dena’s release in 2022, her victims, as well as the police officers involved in the case, have decided to tell their cautionary tale about one of the worst cases of abuse and coercive control by a woman in history.

Champions: Full Gallop, 9.00pm, Virgin Media One
Recently broadcast on ITV, this immersive documentary follows the drama on and off the racetrack as jockeys, trainers, owners and horses battle to become Champions of Jumps season.
In the first episode, it's Boxing Day at Kempton and the horses line up for the historic big money King George VI chase, one of the most prestigious jump races of the entire season.

Family Flick
Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, 2.20pm, Channel 4
Animated comedy sequel, with the voices of Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer and Jada Pinkett Smith.
The escaped zoo animals discover a plane and, following a swift repair job by the penguins, manage to escape the desolate shores of Madagascar.
But they then crash-land on the plains of Africa and find themselves face-to-face with their wild counterparts for the first time.
Sport
Coverage of the fourth and final day of the DP World Tour tournament, which takes place at Royal County Down Golf Club.
Hugh Cahill presents, with analysis from Gary Murphy and John McHenry.
Going in to the final round, Rory McIlroy (below) leads the charge with a one-shot lead over Matteo Manassero in pursuit of what would be his first professional win in his native Northern Ireland.
"It would be amazing," McIlroy said after a third round of 69 played in testing conditions, with winds gusting up to 35mph.
"The last couple of times I've played in Northern Ireland it hasn’t really panned out the way I wanted so to play a good three days here and be in the final group and give myself a chance tomorrow, I’m excited for the opportunity."
