Jennifer Lopez is to star opposite Ted Lasso's Brett Goldstein in the comedy Office Romance with Netflix winning the rights to the film in a bidding war.

US entertainment trade publication Deadline reports that Goldstein is the co-writer of Office Romance and will also be among the producers alongside Lopez.

The rom-com is described as having "several great character actor roles".

Deadline reports that Lopez's company, Nuyorican Productions, "has a multiyear first-look deal with Netflix spanning feature films, TV series, and unscripted content, with an emphasis on projects that support diverse female actors, writers, and filmmakers".

Lopez has already scored two Netflix hits with her films The Mother and Atlas.

Both she and Goldstein recently debuted their acclaimed new films at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Lopez's sports biopic Unstoppable tells the true story of the wrestler Anthony Robles, who was born with one leg and won a national championship while competing at Arizona State University.

The film stars Jharrel Jerome as Robles and Lopez as his mother, Judy. Lopez produced the film through Nuyorican Productions alongside Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's Artists Equity.

Goldstein's new film is the drama All of You, which he co-wrote and stars in alongside Imogen Poots.

Unstoppable is due in cinemas on Friday 6 December. A release date for All of You is yet to be announced.
