Speaking about the song, she says, "Maybe in Another Life is a song that explores the difficulty of coming to terms with endings and how we can often lose ourselves in imaginary scenarios where things may have worked out differently but it's only a distraction from the reality of having to let go."
Tell us three things about yourself . . .
I’m a singer songwriter from east London and I’m super excited to be sharing some new music! One of the things I love most about being a musician is the ability to express emotions and connect with others in a way that everyday conversation often can't. When I hear a song that resonates with me emotionally, it has the power to shift my entire perspective. That’s why my goal has always been to create music that people can find themselves in.
How would you describe your music?
Although I don’t really feel my music fits into a specific genre, I would describe my songs as introspective, raw and honest. Going into themes of self-discovery, accepting your strengths and weaknesses and learning to grow.
Who are your musical inspirations?
I have many but some of my favourites are Joni Mitchell, Ray LaMontagne, Laura Marling, Michael Kiwanuka, Lucy Rose and Adrianne Lenker to name a few.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
I would love to say it was something really cool, but I’m pretty sure it was One Direction at the o2 when I was 12.
What was the first record you ever bought?
Til The Sun Turns Black by Ray LaMontage. My dad played a lot of his music when I was growing up and he became one of my favourite artists. I still listen to that album on a regular basis.
What’s your favourite song right now?
Right now, it’s Patterns by Laura Marling. It’s so beautifully written and although its personal to her, I feel like everyone can relate to it in such different ways.
Favourite lyric of all time?
This is so hard to decide so will have to choose one of my many favourites: "There's comfort in melancholy, When there's no need to explain, It's just as natural as the weather, In this moody sky today" - Hijira by Joni Mitchell.
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchell. I can listen to this song at any moment and it makes me feel all the feelings but also brings me a sense of comfort.
Where can people find your music/more information?
You can find my music on all streaming platforms. I will be posting lots of updates on my Instagram so that’s where you can keep up to date with things happening.
