New or Returning Shows

Into the Jungle with Ed Stafford, 9.30pm, Channel 4

Former British Army captain Ed Stafford invites dads and their children into his wilderness adventure school.

The concept is about helping struggling modern families by stripping them of all the distractions of the 21st century and putting them through some of the toughest outdoor experiences.

Ed begins by challenging the dads to navigate their way through the jungle to find their children, their journey includes a leap of faith from a 25ft cliff into deep water.

One dad's overconfidence comes back to bite him while another realises just how much he is capable of if it means being reunited with his son.

The teams then explore the depths of an ancient sinkhole, thought by Mayans to be the entrance to the underworld, with the fastest way to the bottom being a 160ft abseil.

If you missed this when it was recently on BBC One, it's well worth a look.

Richard Rankin (below) takes the title role, with Brian Ferguson and Lucie Shorthouse in a hard-boiled crime drama based on the novels by Ian Rankin.

It's a reimagining of the character John Rebus as a younger detective sergeant drawn into a violent criminal conflict that turns personal when his brother, a former soldier, crosses the line.

Rebus finds himself torn between protecting his brother and enforcing the law to bring Michael to justice.

The Sinking of the Superyacht, 9.00pm, Virgin Media One

The Bayesian superyacht tragedy of August 2024, when seven people died off the coast of Sicily, including British technology tycoon Mike Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter Hannah.

Through dramatic, minute-by-minute analysis, this documentary looks at the possible causes of the disaster, asking what the sinking means for anyone stepping onto a boat.

Don’t Miss

This week Baz Ashmawy travels to Sweden and joins Dublin man Ivan Keane, who runs his own micro brewery in Stockholm, on his delivery run, meeting some interesting expats along the way.

He also takes part in GAA training with Clare native Michelle Cotter, a chairperson of the city's association.

Seo é Joe Dolan, 9.30pm, TG4

Here's an insight into the life and career of Joe Dolan (below), recorded at legendary performer's home town of Mullingar in 1995.

It features a selection of his most popular hits, plus behind-the-scenes footage and interviews.

Episode two follows at 9.30pm. Sebastian discovers an embarrassing secret about Captain Duff, and Steve finds love again, while falling standards force the entire team to attend a retraining weekend.

Nadiya's Cook Once, Eat Twice, 7.30pm, BBC Two

As this smart food show continues, Nadiya Hussain (below) cooks a beef stir-fry, which she repurposes later in the week with seaweed, wasabi and cucumber into a sushi-style wrap.

She also whips up a stale bread granola, where she bakes old bread with oats, nuts, syrup and cinnamon to fill up a huge jar that can last for weeks.

Plus, food writer Thuy Pham shares her recipe for a speedy Vietnamese swede and mango salad.

The final comedy special of her historic career, Ellen gets personal and reveals what she’s been doing since being 'kicked out of show business'.

Ending Today

Elsbeth, 9.00pm, Sky Witness

It's the season one finale of this fun and frothy whodunit featuring Carrie Preston as her The Good Wife character, quirky attorney Elsbeth Tascioni.

When an unlikable fashion photographer is murdered in the middle of a fashion show, Elsbeth and the team suspect the killer to be either the photographer's college ex - and leading model of the show - or her jealous husband.

Meanwhile, Elsbeth's role at the precinct is thrown into question.
