Former Revelino guitar slinger Bren Berry has returned with his new single, Turn On Your Radio, and the Irish music veteran says the song was inspired by visiting his aunt in Dublin's historical Liberties neighbourhood.

The track is from Berry's forthcoming debut solo album, In Hope Our Stars Align, and speaking about the song, he says, "When I was kid, I spent a lot of time in The Liberties with my Aunt Norrie, who was a massive Elvis Presley fan and introduced me to the magic of radio,"

"I have always loved discovering great music on the radio, listening to so many great DJ’s especially at night."

He adds that Turn on your Radio is also "a metaphor, a protest song, an SOS Ground control to Major Tom broadcast to a world in trouble and running out of road".

"I wrote it as we were resurfacing after lockdown and think it captures the sense of isolation, loss and alienation that we were all feeling, like an earthbound Space Oddity stuck in cruise control."

Berry was a member of acclaimed Dublin band Revelino, who released three albums in the nineties and since their split, he has been working behind the scenes at Dublin venue, Vicar Street.
