Prime Video has given the green light to a Reacher spin-off series focusing on the iconic hero's friend and former military colleague Frances Neagley, played by Maria Sten.
Sten's chemistry opposite Reacher star Alan Ritchson was among the highlights of seasons one and two of the Lee Child adaptation - and ahead of their reunion in season three comes the news that the Danish star will be fronting her own spin-off show.
US entertainment trade publication The Hollywood Reporter says that the spin-off will focus on the Chicago-based Neagley's work as a private investigator.
"When she learns that a beloved friend from her past has been killed in a suspicious accident, she becomes hell-bent on justice," reads the synopsis.
"Using everything she's learned from Jack Reacher and her time as a member of the 110 Special Investigators, Neagley puts herself on a dangerous path to uncover a menacing evil."

"I'm beyond thrilled to further explore the world of Neagley and her somewhat mysterious background," said Sten.
"She's such a wonderful character to play and I'm very excited for everyone to get to know her a little better."
Reacher showrunner and creator Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton (Prison Break, NYPD Blue) are co-creators of the spin-off.
In a statement, they said: "Lee Child created an immensely rich character with Neagley, and Maria Sten brought her to life in such a vivid, authentic way in Reacher."
They added that they are "excited to explore Neagley's story further and dive into what makes her so unique".
