Colm Meaney stars opposite Paul Reiser in the Ireland-set comedy The Problem with People, coming to cinemas in November.

The Problem with People has been written and produced by Mad About You and Aliens star Reiser and is directed by BAFTA winner Chris Cottam (A Christmas Number One, The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan).

The cast also includes Lucianne McEvoy (Red Eye, Shetland) and Jane Levy (Evil Dead, Don't Breathe).

Teeing up what's ahead, the makers say: "Honouring his father's last wish to reunite with the American side of his family, Irishman Ciarán calls his cousin, Barry, out of the blue with the offer for him to visit his homeland.

"Barry, keen to escape from the daily grind of his New York real estate firm, agrees to make the long trip over.

"Will they ever be able to give peace a chance again?"

"However, after an initially warm welcome, tensions soon boil over when it's discovered that Barry has unexpectedly been left half the money in Ciarán's father's will.

"With the two men now torn apart by greed and jealousy, resulting in a feud that spirals into a series of pretty squabbles and disastrous hijinks, will they ever be able to give peace a chance again?"

"My quest was made a lot easier with the help of legends Paul Reiser and Colm Meaney," said director Cottam.

"Both charming and brotherly off screen and combative, petty, and brotherly on screen, their partnership has the delightful fizz that fuels the energy of the story.

"Like all great actors, you can read and delve into the nuances of their performances over and over again for, despite it being firmly in the genre of 'comedy', The Problem with People has at its core the existential question: 'What is it that we need to get along?'"

The Problem with People opens in cinemas on Friday 8 November.
