Baby Lasagna, Marko Purisic's musical project, was "born out of songwriters' need for artistic expression that will let him write and perform music without any strict genre limitations".

he debuted in late 2023, with singles IG BOY and Don’t Hate Yourself, But Don’t Love Yourself Too Much, and then hit big with Rim Tim Tagi Dim in the first half of 2024.

The song won the Croatian ESC Dora in February and went on to place second at the Eurovision Song Contest in Sweden last May.

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

I like cats and I’m afraid of dogs. I’m a metlahead first, but I will listen to what Taylor Swift is doing. I’m known as Baby Lasagna, but to me, Lasagna is "just okay".

How would you describe your music?

I tend to jump from one genre to another when writing songs. Listening to my upcoming album, Demons and Mosquitos, you can hear industrial metal song, and the next one will be just a generic pop song. But, gun to my head, if I had to describe it: Just enough unpredictable to be exciting, but not too unpredictable to be scary and confusing.

Who are your musical inspirations?

Recently I find myself listening to Electric Callboy, Vivaldi, BBNO$ and Jonhny Cash.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

Uh, I don’t really remember my actual first gig, but the first big concert that I went to was Rammstein. Ever since I try and go to their concert whenever I get a chance.

What was the first record you ever bought?

Korn - Life Is Peachy. I was nine years old haha.

What’s your favourite song right now?

The Black Keys - Gold On The Ceiling.

Favourite lyric of all time?

That depends on the mood, but the mood I’m in right now is: "You load 16 tons, what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt, St. Peter, don't you call me 'cause I can't go, I owe my soul to the company store" - Sixteen Tons by Tennessee Ernie Ford. My fiancée is making me do house work after I finish this interview.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Something cool but long and complex - maybe Beethovens 9th Symphony. I know it’s not a song but,… yeah.

Where can people find your music/more information?

Outside of YouTube, Spotify, Instagram and TikTok - I would say that it’s a good idea to visit my web page. It’s all up to date and one can find info about the new releases, tour dates, merch, bio, contacts and everything in between.
