It's the final Late Late Show of the season, The Young Offenders return for a new run, Nerves of Steel is a documentary about rollercoasters at Emerald Park, and there's a wedding on Chicago Fire . . .

Pick of the Day

Patrick Kielty’s first run on The Late Late Show has pased by so quickly.

But – hey! - that’s showbiz.

The second PK and first non-Dub to host Ireland’s most popular show has certainly made the show his own, bringing his blend of showbiz bonhomie and genuine empathy to what’s effectively the nation’s sitting room.

This week’s show will feature an interview with Lord of the Dance star Michael Flatley (above).

New or Returning Shows

The Young Offenders, 9.30pm, BBC One

We’re now up to season 4 of this Cork-based comedy, starring Chris Walley, Alex Murphy and Shane Casey.

As we’re reunited with the Leeside lads, it’s not that surprising to learn that Conor and Jock have grown older, but not any wiser.

A madcap trip sees them on the wrong side of the law as they're given a free holiday to Colombia from a Spanish-speaking man.

Filmed over two years in Emerald Park, this behind-the-scenes documentary follows the trials and tribulations of building Europe's longest intertwining rollercoasters.

Due to open May 2024, they’re named Na Fianna Force and The Quest, and will be the longest intertwining coasters in Europe.

This four-part series delves deep into the heart of the action, chronicling the efforts and dedication of the Emerald Park team as they navigate towards the grand opening.

Engineered and designed by a Dutch manufacturing company, Vekoma, who are a major supplier for The Walt Disney Company, the rollercoasters have been designed intricately to create an excitement filled and memorable experience for Emerald Park visitors.

In the opening episode, viewers are introduced to the ambitious vision of the Tir Na nÓg development, masterminded by the Founder of Emerald Park, the late Raymond Coyle.

He shares his Emerald Park story while revealing his ambitious Tir Na nÓg plans.

Jon Richardson: The Knitwit, 11.05pm, Channel 4

The latest stage show from 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown star Jon Richardson, recorded at the Hackney Empire. Which, presumably, is in London.

With his trademark fastidious humour Jon asks all the important questions - will the recycling be put out on the right day, who is going to smooth over the top of the margarine and how many lights are on upstairs when everybody is downstairs?

Don’t Miss

Chicago Fire, 9.00pm, Sky Witness

As season 12 continues, Firehouse 51 welcomes back some familiar faces and says goodbye to Brett, Violet scrambles to decorate Brett's wedding venue, and a call at the expo centre takes a shocking turn.

More furry tales from a dedicated squad of care-staff at Ireland's oldest and largest animal welfare charity, the DSPCA.

A dog's X-Ray reveals a mystery piece of metal that's making it sick, so the Vet team must work for weeks to get the problem resolved. Ultimately, surgery is the only option.

An elderly pedigree cat arrives at the shelter in a dishevelled state. After a thorough grooming, the Persian is returned to her former glory and given a new name, Princess Butternut Squash.

MasterChef, 7.30pm, BBC One

Knockout Week ends as this week's best cooks return to compete for a place in the semi-finals.

This is the sharp end of the competition, so it will take bags of self-belief - and some perfect plates - to get there.

The contenders are afforded just under two hours to create sweet or savoury bite-size canapés that would elevate even the most sophisticated of parties.

The one who doesn't bring enough to the party will be sent home, leaving the rest with a huge sense of achievement as they move one step closer to being MasterChef Champion 2024.

New to Stream

Living with Leopards, Netflix

This promises to be an impressive 'coming of age’ tale about a pair of leopard cubs born into one of the most dramatic landscapes on Earth.

Force of Nature: The Dry 2, Sky Cinema & NOW

Eric Bana, Anna Torv, Deborra-Lee Furness, Robin McLeavy, Sisi Stringer and Lucy Ansell star in director Robert Connolly’s thriller.

Five women head out on a remote hiking retreat but only four return, each telling a different story.

Detective Aaron Falk (Eric Bana) must find out what really happened before time runs out.

Sport

It’s Shamrock Rovers v St Patrick's Athletic (KO 7.45pm) in the Premier Division encounter at Tallaght Stadium.

Rovers have won the title in each of the last four seasons but haven’t yet got into their stride, with just one win in their last five games.

St Pat's were third last term but have also struggled to find any consistent form so far in 2024. One of the few highlights was a 2-1 home win over tonight's opponents last month.

But Pats’ boss Jon Daly was sacked last Tuesday after just 12 months in charge, meaning assistant manager Sean O’Connor takes over while the club searches for a third manager in 13 months.
