Guitarist and vocalist Sarah and drummer Danni Nolan came together while gigging on Dublin’s underground scene and draw inspiration from the likes of The Breeders, Apples In Stereo, Courtney Barnett and Elliot Smith.

They will release their debut LP on Anon Records later this year.

PCRO have supported BellX1, Pillow Queens, Just Mustard, The Backseat Lovers, Algernon Cadwallader, Silverbacks and M(h)aol.

In 2022 and 2023 PCRO performed at festivals and showcases such as Electric Picnic, Primavera Pro Barcelona, St. Patrick's Festival, Sound of Belfast and Ireland Music Week.

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

I'm from Mayo, I like music, I hate music.

How would you describe your music?

Sad girl bangers.

Who are your musical inspirations?

Joni Mitchell, Elliot Smith , The Elephant 6 recording collective, David Bowie, everything I've ever listened to.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

Green Day, Paramore and Joan Jett at Marlay Park, Dublin in 2010.

What was the first record you ever bought?

I wish I had a cooler answer for this - Hilary Duff's Most Wanted is the first CD I remember buying in Xtravision, Castlebar

What’s your favourite song right now?

Semiwestern's lo-fi Midwest emo cover version of Constant Repeat by Charli XCX. The production reminds me of cool 90s bands like Sparklehorse.

Favourite lyric of all time?

"How strange it is to be anything at all" from Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane Over the Sea.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I Trawl the Megahertz by Prefab Sprout - it's 20 mins long and takes you through all seven stages of grief.

Where can people find your music/more information?

The singles we've released so far are on Bandcamp, Spotify and the Anon Records YouTube channel. You can keep up to date with us on social media @pixiecutband on Instagram @p_c_r_o on Twitter.
