Rebus, 9.25pm, BBC One
This new crime drama is based on the hugely successful series of Rebus novels by Ian Rankin.
It stars Richard Rankin - no relation to Ian - in the title role, with Brian Ferguson and Lucie Shorthouse.
It reimagines the character John Rebus as a younger detective sergeant drawn into a violent criminal conflict that turns personal when his brother, a former soldier, crosses the line.
In the opening episode, Rebus finds himself torn between protecting his brother and enforcing the law to bring Michael to justice.
Then at 10.30pm on BBC Four there’s Ian Rankin's Hidden Edinburgh, where the author revisits locations used in his John Rebus novels revealing the darker side of the city.
Places featured include a police station where Rankin was interviewed about a real murder and the home of Scotland's most infamous madam.

Britain's Got Talent, 7.30pm, Virgin Media One
Back on Saturdays following a week off for Eurovision, Ant and Dec host as more performers take to the stage.
They’ll all be aiming to impress judges Bruno Tonioli, Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon and secure their place in the live semi-finals, with the ultimate prize a life-changing £250,000 in cash and a spot on the bill of the Royal Variety Performance.
Later... with Jools Holland, 9.50pm, BBC Two
Jools (below) returns to Alexandra Palace Theatre in North London, in what’s the 64th season of the eclectic live music show.
The opening edition featuring elbow, who showcase their latest album Audio Vertigo, while frontman Guy Garvey chats to the host at the piano.
Also appearing are rock band Idles, country star Lainey Wilson, singer-songwriter Myles Smith, and Sam Morton, a collaboration between actress Samantha Morton and producer Richard Russell.
An American Bombing: The Road to April 19th, 9.00pm, Sky Documentaries

On April 19, 1995, the Oklahoma City bombing became the deadliest act of homegrown terrorism against the government in U.S. history.
This HBO documentary examines the details of that day, the experiences of the people there, the hunt for the perpetrators, the pivotal moments of the trials, and its effects still felt today.

The Doctor and Ruby arrive on an alien battlefield, where the Time Lord is trapped in place by a landmine that will go off if he moves.

Elvis Presley: '68 Comeback Special, 8.35pm, BBC Two
It’s been on several times before, but every generation should get to see Elvis Presley return to basics in hugely impressive fashion.
The singer's classic TV special, which saw him make a return to live performance after years in Hollywood shows that Elvis was a fantastic performer, singer and rock ’n’ roll genius.
The show features an array of musical set-pieces, with performances of Hound Dog, All Shook Up, Heartbreak Hotel, Are You Lonesome Tonight, That's All Right, Jailhouse Rock, Blue Suede Shoes, Don't Be Cruel and Love Me Tender.

This is a profile of the France and Paris Saint-Germain footballer Kylian Mbappe, who won the World Cup in 2018 as a teenager and scored a hat-trick in the 2022 final.
The documentary explores his upbringing in Paris suburbs, and the likes of Thierry Henry, Didier Deschamps, Arsene Wenger, Bernardo Silva and Ibrahima Konate provide an insight into why he has been so successful.
