Tell us three things about yourself . . .
I've got a maths degree, I like my three in one with satay sauce instead of curry sauce, I love a chocolate hobnob with a cup of tea.
How would you describe your music?
Fast, energetic, lyrical, conceptual, and really great of course. I enjoy it a lot! Especially live.
Who are your musical inspirations?
Always evolves and changes. Massively inspired by Radiohead/The Smile at the moment purely down to being introduced to that tune Bending Hectic, now I’m hooked. Other notable inspirations are Alex G and Boy Harsher.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
Arctic Monkeys, Malahide Castle 2007. I was a very young child and went with my dad. A very key and formative childhood memory.
What was the first record you ever bought?
Gorillaz - Clint Eastwood. It was a CD and I was five or six years of age. I remember being so obsessed with the single artwork and cartoon/virtual band vibe, totally grabbed me before anything else. A great tune too!
What’s your favourite song right now?
My great pal Oisín just introduced to a tune called Stockholm by Baba Stiltz, which absolutely floored me. Been listening obsessively for a few days now…
Favourite lyric of all time?
"I don’t drink coffee, I’ll take tea my dear I like my toast done on one side" - An Englishman in New York by Sting.
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Bending Hectic by The Smile.
Where can people find your music/more information?
People can find Nixer at all the usual places. But it’s definitely best to find us in our live form so keep an eye on socials and come check out a gig! I’m on Instagram, Blowtorch Records, Bandcamp, Spotify, Soundcloud, and Twitter.
