There's Munster hurling action on the double, Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour lands in Florence, Lee Mack hosts the 1% Club, Chris needs a day job in The Responder, and garden lovers can look forward to the Countdown to RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2024 . . .

Pick of the Day

This Sunday’s double bill of GAA action sees Clare face Waterford (2pm) and Tipperary take on Cork (4pm).

Should go down well given all the recent fuss over games being shipped to the GAAGO streaming service.

Joanne Cantwell (above) presents coverage of the matches in the fourth round of fixtures in the Munster Senior Hurling Championship, held at Cusack Park and FBD Semple Stadium.

With analysis from Joe Canning and Shane Dowling.

New or Returning Shows

Countdown to RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2024, 6.15pm, BBC One

Sophie Raworth and Joe Swift present an exclusive first look at the Royal Horticultural Society's Chelsea Flower Show 2024.

They'll be joined by Adam Frost, Rachel de Thame, Arit Anderson, Toby Buckland and JJ Chalmers who will be delving into some of the most eagerly anticipated show gardens and revealing this season's best blooms in the Great Pavilion.

Don’t Miss

The 1% Club, 9.00pm, Virgin Media One

This gets more addictive by the week and it's a throwback to the 'all-around-the-telly' shows from the past.

It’s a quiz hosted by the razor-sharp Lee Mack in which the questions have nothing to do with remembering facts but are all about logic and common sense.

Not much of either about these post-covid days, eh?

A hundred contestants begin every show, but who will make it to the end and answer a question only one per cent of the country can get right - and win up to £100,000?

The Responder, 9.00pm, BBC One

Martin Freeman (below) continues to do the business in this gritty cop show based in Liverpool.

Chris needs a day job, so he agrees to find someone Franny is looking for called Vernon Hartley. But can he convince Vernon's mother and grandmother to give up his location?

Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour, 9.00pm, BBC Two

Rob Rinder and Rylan Clark (below) head to Florence, setting out to discover how grand tourists tried to uncover the secrets of the Renaissance in the Italian city.

Their journey begins with a climb up to the spectacular dome of the city's cathedral, before they view statues of the biblical figure of David by Michelangelo and Donatello, and visit the Uffizi gallery, home of the Venus de Milo sculpture.

Metroland, 10.15pm, BBC Four

Here’s a bit of an oddity from the BBC archives - a combination of poetry and transport.

In a documentary from 1973, then UK poet Laureate John Betjeman takes a nostalgic look at the branch lines of the London Underground's Metropolitan Line and their meanderings through suburban Middlesex, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

New to Stream

Cult Killer, Sky Cinema & NOW

Alice Eve, Antonio Banderas, Shelley Henning and Paul Reid star in director Jon Keeyes' crime thriller.

A PI (Antonio Banderas) and his partner (Alice Eve) are drawn into a web of intrigue when they start tracking a serial killer targeting a wealthy family with a dark secret.

Sunday Cinema

Top-notch Agatha Christie whodunit, directed by and starring Kenneth Branagh (below), with Daisy Ridley, Derek Jacobi and Johnny Depp.

An American businessman travelling on the Orient Express from Istanbul to Paris tries to hire Hercule Poirot to be his bodyguard as he has had death threats made against him.

The sleuth refuses, but wakes up the following morning to learn the man has been stabbed to death while the train was held up by heavy snow - and there is no shortage of suspects among the passengers.

The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp, 12.00pm, BBC Two

Another classic from Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger.

This is presumably tying-in with the current cinema release of Made in England: The Films of Powell & Pressburger, Martin Scorsese’s homage to one of cinema’s greatest double acts.

This time it’s a superb satirical drama, starring Roger Livesey, Deborah Kerr, Anton Walbrook and John Laurie, all about the changing dynamics of combat.

A Home Guard officer serving during the Second World War is outraged by the disrespect for tradition shown by younger soldiers.

He then looks back on his military adventures during the Boer War and First World War, and his three great loves.

Family Flick

The Witches, 2.30pm, BBC One

Co-writer/director Robert Zemeckis's take on the beloved Roald Dahl fantasy, starring Anne Hathaway, Octavia Spencer, Stanley Tucci, and narrated by Chris Rock.

In 1967, an orphaned boy goes to live with his grandmother, only to find himself the prey of diabolical witches disguised as glamorous women.

Heading to a seaside hotel seems like a great way to escape, but in an unfortunate twist of fate, the world's Grand High Witch is gathering her coven at the same resort and has a nefarious plan in store.
