The trailer for Laura Whitmore and Shona McGarty's play 2:22: A Ghost Story has been released ahead of the West End hit coming to Dublin this June.
Bray TV star Whitmore leads the production alongside EastEnders actor McGarty, The Tudors star Colin O'Donoghue and The Wanted's Jay McGuinness in the supernatural thriller which has a limited run at the 3Olympia Theatre from 20 June to 11 August.
The moody trailer sees Whitmore addressing the camera, saying: "You're frightened. I can see that. Something happened to me once. It didn't make sense."
An agitated McGarty claims: "I don't believe in ghosts", before asking, "Did we make this happen?"
After making her theatre debut in the London production as Jenny, Whitmore will step into the role of Lauren for the Dublin run of dates.
McGarty will play Jenny, singer Jay McGuiness of the boy band The Wanted will play Ben, and O'Donoghue (Once Upon A Time, The Right Stuff) will play Sam.
The synopsis of the play says: "Jenny believes her new home is haunted, but her husband Sam isn't having any of it.
"They argue with their first dinner guests, old friend Lauren and new partner Ben. Can the dead really walk again?
"Belief and scepticism clash, but something feels strange and frightening, and that something is getting closer, so they're going to stay up... until 2:22... and then they’ll know."
2:22 - A Ghost Story began in summer 2021 at London's Noël Coward Theatre and starred Lily Allen, Julia Chan, Hadley Fraser and Jake Wood, and went on to win the WhatsOnStage award for Best Play.
2:22 - A Ghost Story will open on 20 June at Dublin's 3Olypmia Theatre with performances until 11 August. Tickets from €26.50 are on sale now.
