Andrew Scott wins at Gotham TV Awards in US

Andrew Scott was among the winners at the inaugural Gotham TV Awards in New York City on Tuesday evening, winning Outstanding Performance in a Limited Series for his starring role in the Netflix thriller Ripley.

US entertainment trade publication Variety reports that Scott was not at the ceremony at the Cipriani 25 venue to accept his award from New York's Gotham Film & Media Institute.

The Dubliner has received widespread acclaim for his performance in the new adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's 1955 novel The Talented Mr Ripley.

At the Gotham TV Awards, Zine Tseng won Outstanding Performance in a Drama Series for her work on 3 Body Problem.

Harriet Dyer won Outstanding Performance in a Comedy Series for her work on Colin from Accounts. Irish actor Siobhán Cullen had also been nominated in the category for her performance in Netflix's Ireland-set series Bodkin.

Also among the Gotham winners were Mr & Mrs Smith (Breakthrough Drama Series), Baby Reindeer (Breakthrough Limited Series) and Colin from Accounts (Breakthrough Comedy Series).

Attention now turns to the nominations for the Emmy Awards, which will be announced on Wednesday 17 July. The Emmy Awards will take place on Sunday 15 September.
