Alt-folk duo Arrow In The Sky have released their new single, Time Of Need, and play Clarke's of Mullingar on 19 July. We asked Conor McCauley of the band the BIG questions . . .

Arrow In The Sky are multi-instrumentalists Conor McCauley and Brian Murphy and they have released two mini-albums: Do What Thou Wilt (2009) and Winter's Requiem (2011).

Time Of Need is the latest single to be taken from their new album, following previous releases Fire and My Sunshine.

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

I’m a disabled musician with MS, I represented Disability Power Ireland at Dublin Vegfest 2023 and I’m vegan.

How would you describe your music?

Weaving an aural tapestry of folk, blues, alt-rock into our own unique blend of Irish-Americana.

Who are your musical inspirations?

Wilco, CSNY, Midlake, Fleet Foxes and At the Drive-In.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

Ash in the Olympia in 1999. My ears are still ringing!

What was the first record you ever bought?

Tensor by Marfa Lights.

What’s your favourite song right now?

I have Masterpiece by Big Thief on repeat at the minute!

Favourite lyric of all time?

"You’re invisible, you’ve got too many secrets. Bob Dylan said that, something like that." Bandit by Neil Young.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Roscoe by Midlake.
