"If I wasn't on stage, I'd go and see her. I'm seeing her in London because she's doing more dates in August," she said.
The Bray native praised Swift for writing songs "that connect with so many young women" and credited her loyal legion of fans for "looking out for each other".
"I've interviewed Taylor and she's the nicest, sweetest, loveliest, most talented person. She's really relatable - she looks like a supermodel and is extremely talented - but she's very relatable in a weird way because she writes songs that connect with so many young women," she said.
"I've gone to a lot of gigs in my life but I've never felt that community. It's just such a lovely, warm, safe space. It was just lovely and everyone is looking out for each other. She just seems to have it," Whitmore added.
The Wanted's Jay McGuinness agreed with his 2:22: A Ghost Story co-star and reckons Swift's ability to be "goofy" is what inspires her young audience.
"I think a lot of the messaging in her lyrics is probably stuff that a lot of young girls feel really supported by.
"The overall thing about Taylor Swift is that she's not afraid to be goofy. She dances like a complete goofball and everyone goes 'Cool, you can be an billionaire, record-breaking artist, just goofin' around on stage because people just want to see you being free," he said.
McGuinness added: "She's a very talented songwriter".
Swift is playing a trio of sold-out gigs on Friday 28 June, Saturday 29 June, Sunday 30 June at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
