Blending elements of modern pop with industrial, R&B, and alternative rock, the 11-track album features vocalists Trent Park, Elle Rhodes, and Mariami, and was produced by Milan, Frank, and Starita (Madame Gandhi, A Tribe Called Quest, Childish Gambino).

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

Frank: Trained on classical piano and violin, picked up bass as a teenager, and have been writing songs since I was 12. Love small music venues with history - The Fillmore in SF, The Bowery Ballroom in NYC, 930 Club in D.C. are my favourites. Love traveling and exploring new cultures - Tokyo, Berlin, and Copenhagen are some of my favourite cities and provide great inspiration for writing new music.

Milan: Grew up in Portland, Oregon studying jazz guitar with a local professional jazz guitarist. Left foot is one size bigger than my right foot and my left hand is similarly larger than my right, making it very advantageous for a right-handed guitar player. Migrate back and forth between Portland, Oregon, and San Francisco.

How would you describe your music?

The remains of smashing things that shouldn't go together, combining elements from disparate and often-conflicting inspirations. It’s a mix of pop, self-indulgent rock, electronic, industrial, R&B, and noise.

Milan: My parents always had a lot of music playing in the house, from Broadway theatre to Southern Rock. The first music that was mine was 90s' hip hop (Digital Underground, NWA, Too Short, 2nd II None) and rock (Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, Motley Crue). From there, I fell into 90’s alternative music, industrial music, dance music and Britpop.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

Milan: Guns N’ Roses’ Use Your Illusion Tour. I was very young and it was very adult and mind-blowing for an impressionable young kid. My dad waited in the parents’ room because there were still concerns that another riot could break out at any of the stops on that tour.

What was the first record you ever bought?

Frank: Slippery When Wet by Bon Jovi. It’s one of those 80s records, along with The Joshua Tree by U2, Automatic for the People by R.E.M. (that’s the 90s - Ed), and Appetite for Destruction by Guns 'N Roses, to name just a few, that really holds up.

What’s your favourite song right now?

Milan: Spotify will tell you it’s Sabrina Carpenter’s Please Please Please. It sounds like the most beautifully messed up country song.

Favourite lyric of all time?

Frank: "I really wish I was less of a thinking man, and more a fool who’s not afraid of rejection" - Billy Joel, from Sleeping With The Television On. It’s a line from a pretty obscure song and it can apply to so many situations.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Milan: Prince - I Wanna Be Your Lover. You’re going to need a good track to get the party started and play guitar too.
