Irish actor Andrew Scott has been nominated for an Emmy award for his leading role in the acclaimed Netflix miniseries Ripley.
The moodily shot black-and-white series was created, written and directed by Steven Zaillian and was based on Patricia Highsmith's 1955 novel The Talented Mr. Ripley.
Scott starred as Tom Ripley, Dakota Fanning played Marge Sherwood and Johnny Flynn portrayed Dickie Greenleaf.
The Dublin star will compete against Matt Bomer (Fellow Travelers), Richard Gadd (Baby Reindeer), Jon Hamm (Fargo) and Tom Hollander (Feud: Capote vs The Swans) in the Best Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or a TV Movie category at this year's Emmys ceremony.
The 47-year-old actor previously received an Emmy nomination - Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series - in 2020 for his role in the anthology series Black Mirror.
Shōgun leads this year's nominations with 25. The Bear has received 23 nominations - a new comedy record.
The Primetime Emmy Awards take place in Los Angeles on Sunday 15 September.
