The band, who hail from Bologna, are comprised of Danio Forni on vocals and guitar, Tommaso Medica on bass and Pietro Garrone on drums and samples.

As a producer Danio has recently he has worked with Fred Again, Willow Kayne, twst, Joy Anonymous, Jacknife Lee, Kari Faux, Oscar Scheller, Boy Better Know, Superorganism, Kai Bosch, Jelani Blackman, and Cosmorat.

Speaking about his own band's new release, he says, "When I pause for a second and think about all the reasons why I started making music in the first place, Ultrarama is what being in Husky Loops should feel like.

"It's not about pleasing others or fitting to a format: I am writing music that satisfies the need inside me of expressing something real, without overthinking it. We are making the art we want to listen to, the music that can fill the gap between our imagination and what comes out of the speakers.

"And if no one cares... we do, and that’s the point. We value caring, free flow, curiosity. No social media will change this mindset as our inspiration makes us confident and able to become what we desire to be."

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

Wow tough question although it might sound easy… I guess we put the music first, we value creativity and attention to detail and we try to be as pure as possible without taking ourselves too seriously. A shallower answer would be we live in London, we’re three guys and we hate how little streaming services pay…

How would you describe your music?

It’s quite complicated to describe our music at the moment because we just released a new EP and we’re in that weird limbo where nothing feels real and we’re already thinking about what next, but… if we think about all the reasons why we started making music in the first place, Ultrarama is what being in Husky Loops should feel like. It’s wide, it’s loud, it’s quite strange and distorted but it also feels intimate and personal because of the lyrics which is a juxtaposition we love. It uses standard instruments like guitar, bass and drums but through recording experimentation and production we could really push the sonics. We wanted to achieve something quite hectic but that you could immerse yourself in while listening to it. It’s uncompromising and it also feels like a band, as it was recorded initially with us together playing in the room… It’s probably the most straight to the point that we’ve ever been.

Who are your musical inspirations?

They vary but pretty much everyone and anyone we’ve listened to since forever has subconsciously influence the way we approach our songs. We tend not to have references when we create music, we always try to make up something that feels new to us and interesting especially in the way it’s made. The process is as important as the outcome sometimes, it allows us to experiment and surprise ourselves while still using our conventional instruments. For Ultrarama I think it was really key to make something that felt completely "reference free". It allowed us to find a new sound and feel confident to create something that felt unique. And we hope it’ll make the listener really go beyond what expected from a band and let their imagination run wild while listening.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

Danio: If I recall properly I went to see The Mothers (Frank Zappa’s band) when I was 11, or maybe it was Chuck Berry in Rome. I was an old school child.

Pietro: White Stripes when I was 14 in Bologna.

Tom: White Stripes, I was 12 and I met Pietro for the first time at the show.

What was the first record you ever bought?

Danio: Spiceworld by the Spice Girls on CD.

Tom: La Vasca by Alex Britti an Italian blues guitarist.

Pietro: The first record was Barbie Girl by Aqua on cassette.

What’s your favourite song right now?

Danio: Are You Looking Up by Mk.gee.

Pietro: Nothing Changes by MGMT.

Tom: Bye Bye by Kim Gordon.

Favourite lyric of all time?

"I once had a dream, So I packed up and split for the city, I soon found out that my lonely life wasn't so pretty, I'm glad I went now I'm that much more sure that we're ready" – The Beach Boys.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Numbers On The Boards by Pusha T.
