The Spark was recorded by the kids, who are aged between nine and 12, of The Kabin Studio, a repurposed metal container turned into a non-profit youth music space in Knocknaheeny on the northside of Cork City.
Established in 2012 with the support of Music Generation Cork City, founder Garry McCarthy says, "It has grown out of a love for hip hop, songwriting, performance and building confidence within young people."
The Kabin Studio also ran an outreach initiative called Rhyme Island funded by Creative Ireland as part of Cruinniú na nÓg (The Gathering of Youth), Ireland's national day of celebrating children's creativity, earlier this summer.
