Tell us three things about yourself . . .

We are the band version of Lewis Capaldi. We work unbelievably hard at everything we do but also never take ourselves too seriously. We have been playing covers gigs for the last five years in order to get super tight as a band for original shows.

How would you describe your music?

Genre wise we would describe it as pop/rock, if Picture This and the 1975 had a baby. Chorus guitars, beautiful synths and sounds with some punchy drums thrown in.

Who are your musical inspirations?

Our musical inspirations between us all as a band vary drastically but inspirations that spring to mind are - Two Door Cinema Club, Sam Fender, The Beatles, Picture This, The 1975, Bon Jovi, The Coronas, Bon Iver, Queen, Noah Kahan, Bruce Springsteen and, of course, our very own Hozier.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

Bon Jovi live in the RDS when I was 10, unbelievable gig and made me want to pursue music for the rest of my life.

What was the first record you ever bought?

Queen's Greatest Hits on vinyl, and also in the same week my father purchased The Joshua Tree by U2, I listened to both those albums every day after school and the entire summer and fell in love with both of those bands but I still don’t know Bohemian Rhapsody off by heart all these years later.

What’s your favourite song right now?

The Story After They’re Gone by Dylan Flynn and The Dead Poets. We have our own little homemade studio and it’s on repeat while we set up our rehearsal space, a close second that needs a mention is Acid Eyes by Paulo Nutini. Never gets old.

Favourite lyric of all time?

Biased here, but probably a lyric from our new track Sick and Tired: "just say you love me baby even if we know it’s a lie". After that it has to be "collapse my veins wearing beautiful shoes, it’s not living if it’s not with you" - It’s Not Living If It’s Not With You by The 1975.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

It’s Not Living If It’s Not With You by the 1975.

Where can people find your music/more information?

People can find us on all the usual social media platforms. Our TikTok and Instagram user handle is band_dejavu_official and for Facebook, Spotify and Soundcloud it’s Déjà vu.
