Russell Howard, Dara Ó Briain, Deirdre O'Kane, Dylan Moran, Ruby Wax, and Mario Rosenstock are among the names in what's been branded a "tidal wave of madness, mischief and merriment" at the Galway Comedy Festival.

Also in the lineup are the newest wave of Irish comedy stars such as Shane Todd, Emma Doran, Sinéad Quinlan, Al Porter and Colin Geddis.

They'll feature alongside the previously announced Ruby Wax, Des Bishop, Jimeoin, Michelle Wolf, David McSavage, Enya Martin, Micky Bartlett, and Fin Taylor.

Dara Ó Briain

"Laughter is the lubricant that makes life liveable," said Russell Howard, a firm believer in comedy as the means to deal with a world in crisis.

It's a 70-strong line-up of international stars, homegrown comedy greats, and emerging talent, who will play 70 shows, across 17 venues, over seven days and nights.

Tickets go on sale on Tuesday September 10 via www.GalwayComedyFestival.ie, where you can also see the full Festival programme.
