Singer, songwriter, and all-around fashion icon CMAT (aka Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson) walked the red carpet of the Ivor Novello Awards last night in a breath-taking Vivienne Westwood dress.

Running since 1956, the annual ceremony works to celebrate and highlight the talent of the British and Irish songwriting and screen composition industry. This year, CMAT was nominated for Best Album thanks to her recent release, Crazymad, for Me.

Taking place in Grosvenor House in London, the Dublin-born singer, unfortunately, lost out to Yussef Dayes' album, Black Classical Music, but she did win the night when it came to the the fashion.

The country star brought gingham to the red carpet, wearing Vivienne Westwood's pink and white 'Sunday dress'.

Described as a "feminine take" on Westwood's typical rebel aesthetic, the statement dress features a voluptuous silhouette, fitted waist, and a flared midi-length skirt - all made to replicate the designer's famous corset aesthetic.

CMAT paired the dress with light blue Opera gloves and statement rings, white sling-back heels from pushBUTTON adorned with small coin purses, as well as a pair of hand-made ballerina earrings from British jeweller Tatty Devine.

Taking to Instagram to describe her look, she said: "I tried to bring a 'My Parents Are Gayliens' kind of vibe to the ivor novello awards but instead just kind of started stealing stuff".

Make-up artist Adriana-Marina Bara completed the look with a dramatic eye - liner and lashes aplenty - while hair stylist Lauren Bell constructed a sky-high beehive from the singer's red locks.
