Will the BYD Seal continue to compete with premium EV saloons?

With the European Commission set to introduce import tariffs on new EVs shipped from China, will the BYD Seal pricing be as competitive?

The Seal is a premium feel offering from BYD. It's a sleek saloon alternative if you don't need the boot space of an SUV and prefer something now considered a little different from the crowd. The BYD Seal competes with the Volkswagen ID.4, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 and the BMW i4.

With plenty of technology that's easy to use, there's not much they didn't consider with the design, except for the odd placement of the indicating stalk. The current price is on the higher side for a BYD product but there is plenty of spec available. It remains to be seen how much of a price hike will be incurred if tariffs are introduced.

Journalists were loaned cars from BYD Ireland for the purposes of testing.
