Now in its third year, Vogue World has continued to make good on its promise to celebrate cutting edge luxury fashion in a new and exciting way, with Vogue World: Paris taking place in the Eternal City tonight.

Held in the breathtaking Place Vendôme, and hosted by Cara Delevingne, the event follows on from iterations set in New York City in 2022 and London in 2023, the showcase was designed to act as a kind of "opening ceremony" ahead of the Olympics later this summer.

Taking place in the same city as this year's Olympic Games, it's not surprising that Vogue World took inspiration from the sporting world when it came to devising its presentation. According to Vogue, the event has been developed in collaboration with youth athletic academies from across France, with different sports paired with a decade in French fashion, dating back to the 1920s.

French design will be showcased in each presentation, from modern avant garde designers like Jacquemus to the legendary greats of the past. With some live performances peppered throughout, it was a truly spectacular event.

A portion of the net profits from tickets sales are also to be donated to the humanitarian organization Secours Populaire, which facilitates access to essential equipment for young, aspiring athletes across France.

Supermodel Cara Delevingne wore an Irish design, attending the star-studded fashion show in a Simone Rocha for Jean Paul Gaultier gown. The look, which was a spin on Gaultier's classic sailor-inspired deisgns, featured a form-fitting corset with dangling straps and a ruffled underskirt, paired with a pointed bustier and a shimmering silk sailor hat.

Needing probably more than a few espressos, Sabrina Carpenter hopped from the Loewe Menswear fashion show the previous night to making her runway debut at the Vogue World fashion show, strutting her stuff in a red striped ensemble and looking right at home.

The first event of its kind took place last year in New York City's iconic meatpacking district, with a more relaxed fashion show and vibrant street food fair, which sought to capture the essence of the dynamic city itself.

Meanwhile, the British iteration of the show evoked what makes London stand out in the fashion world. Stars walked the red carpet in extravagant designs, with many British designers like Vivienne Westwood and Victoria Beckham represented.
