Grace Nweke's future at the Northern Mystics is uncertain following speculation she's a target of the New South Wales Swifts.

The Swifts failed to make the Suncorp Super Netball finals and are looking for a new shooter after parting ways with Samantha Wallace-Joseph.

Coach Tia Winikerei remained tight-lipped at Mystics training in Auckland today when asked about a potential move for Nweke.

"I'm aware of the stories in the media and what's going on but it's not something the team has discussed," Winikerei said.

The Australian competition is seen as the world's best league and doubts continue to swirl over the future of the ANZ Premiership, with a broadcast agreement beyond the 2025 season still to be worked out.

The signing window for Australian clubs opens on August 5 and closes on August 23 and if Nweke or any other Kiwi players sign contracts across the ditch it will affect their eligibility for the Silver Ferns.

The Swifts are coached by Briony Akle, who worked with Dame Noeline Taurua and the Silver Ferns in January as an assistant coach for the Nations Cup in England. Taurua then took on a specialist coach role with the Swifts in May.

Netball commentator and former Australian Diamond Natalie Butler said Nweke could be "an absolute weapon for the Swifts".

Nweke and the Mystics take on the Tactix in Saturday's elimination final, with the winner meeting the Pulse in the grand final.
