New Zealand tennis star Lulu Sun has earned a surprise call up to the Olympics singles draw, after another withdrawal.

She'll become the first tennis player to represent New Zealand in singles at the Olympics since Marina Erakovic at the London Games in 2012.

Yulia Putintseva from Kazakhstan pulled out which allowed Sun to get the call up. Sun will face Ukraine's Marta Kostyuk.
