Aston Villa came from behind to beat Fulham 3-1 in a highly entertaining Premier League clash at Craven Cottage in which the home side missed a penalty and both teams had a man sent off.
Fulham were in front after five minutes through Raul Jimenez but Villa were level four minutes later after a shot from Morgan Rogers took a wicked deflection. Andreas Pereira then had his spot kick saved and the sides went in level at the break.
Ollie Watkins' header put Villa ahead just before the hour mark and things went from bad to worse for Fulham as first, Joachim Andersen was sent off and then Issa Diop bundled the ball into his own net.
Villa had little problem in holding onto their lead to extend their unbeaten run to six league games, despite a late red card for Jaden Philogene.
Jordan Ayew scored in the 98th minute as Leicester staged a second-half comeback to earn a 3-2 win at Southampton.
Southampto opened the scoring early on when Ryan Manning squared for Cameron Archer to finish a sweeping counter-attack, before midfielder Joe Aribo added to their tally with a side-footed effort.
Leicester pulled one back in the 64th minute after Facundo Buonanotte turned in a cross after a driving run from substitute Abdul Fatawu. Leicester's Jamie Vardy won a penalty ten minutes later after a VAR review found he was held back by Ryan Fraser.
Fraser was sent off and Vardy stepped up, blasting his effort past Aaron Ramsdale, before Ayew sent a low shot through a sea of bodies to snatch a late victory and break the hearts of home fans at St Mary's Stadium.
Danny Welbeck's first-half goal against the run of play gave Brighton & Hove Albion a 1-0 win at Newcastle, a result that extended the home side's winless streak to four Premier League games.
With striker Alexander Isak back after a period out with a toe injury, Newcastle dominated the opening exchanges but struggled to convert their plentiful possession into shots on target in the first half, and Welbeck was more than happy to make them pay.
Isak broke free in the 33rd minute with only the keeper to beat but Bart Verbruggen was able to block his goal-bound effort with his body. Less than two minutes later Welbeck showed him and the rest of the Newcastle attack how it should be done, muscling into the box to slip the ball past Nick Pope and give Brighton the lead.
Everton's mini-revival continued as they comfortably beat a ragged Ipswich Town 2-0 away to make it four games in a row unbeaten, with the toothless hosts never looking likely to claim their first victory of the season.
Everton, who lost their first four games of the season, went ahead after 17 minutes when Ipswich’s defenders failed to clear a Jack Harrison cross and Iliman Ndiaye was left clear to hammer it in from close range.
Ipswich were awarded a first-half penalty after Jack Clarke went down, but the decision was reversed after a VAR review, and the Portman Road gloom was deepened five minutes before the break with a second Everton goal as centre back Michael Keane smashed in a shot at the near post from the tightest of angles.
