Callum O'Dowda and Callum Robinson combined late on to snatch three points for Cardiff City as they beat Norwich 2-1 in the Sky Bet Championship.

Borja Sainz, the division's top scorer, hit his 11th league goal of the season to put the visitors ahead early in the second half at the Cardiff City Stadium.

But O'Dowda turned the game late on, setting up Robinson whose effort deflected off Shane Duffy and past the helpless George Long, who had had precious little to do for most of the game.

Cardiff suddenly had belief, surging forward through Rubin Colwill and Robinson before O'Dowda fired to the right of Long to pull off a remarkable comeback.

Watford climbed into the play-off places as Vakoun Bayo struck four times to beat Sheffield Wednesday 6-2 at Hillsborough.

Michael Smith cancelled out Ryan Porteous' opener but Watford restored their lead through penalties from Tom Ince and Bayo.

Bayo bagged his hat-trick either side of Pol Valentin’s goal for the Owls before earning his fourth in the 88th minute.

The Hornets sit fifth in the table, seven points off leaders Sunderland who were held to a goalless draw at QPR.

The Black Cats were reduced to 10 when Jobe Bellingham was sent off and held on for a point, meaning Leeds now sit three points behind them in second.

Leeds continued their promotion push with a 3-0 win over strugglers Plymouth as Dan James, Joel Piroe and Brenden Aaronson all struck in the first half.

Sheffield United sit third after earning back-to-back league wins with a 2-0 victory at Blackburn thanks to goals from Harrison Burrows and Tyrese Campbell.

Bristol City moved eight games unbeaten after beating Preston 3-1.

Sam Greenwood levelled after Yu Hirakawa’s early goal but Nahki Wells instantly restored the advantage for the Robins, with Max Bird making the game safe.

Coventry earned a 3-0 win over 10-man Middlesbrough, who had Hayden Hackney sent off in the first half.

The Sky Blues then took advantage with goals from Bobby Thomas, Haji Wright and Josh Eccles earning back-to-back league wins.

Ben Gibson scored a late winner for Stoke to beat Derby 2-1 while goals from Zan Vipotnik and Florian Bianchini saw Swansea beat Oxford 2-1.

Bottom-of-the-table Portsmouth earned a valuable point with a 1-1 draw at Hull.
