Adare 1-10 Fr Caseys 0-08
Adare are Limerick senior football champions for a fourth time following a 1-10 to 0-08 victory over Fr Caseys at Mick Neville Park.
Hugh Bourke capped off a highly impressive showing with a scoring total of 1-05 that saw his side win their first title since 2020.
Adare had lost the last three finals to Newcastle West but put in a dominant display to see off their Abbeyfeale opponents.
Paul Maher got the scoring underway in the opening minute with a fine score, before Fr Caseys had the opening goal chance.
Martin Scannell benefitted from a deft David Ward touch but was denied by a save from Jeffrey Alfred.
Adare capitalised immediately with their next attack that ended with Bourke breaking through for the only goal of the final.
Shane Costelloe and Bourke added points to give Adare a 1-03 to 0-00 advantage with 17 minutes on the clock.
Fr Caseys eventually got a foothold in the game with scores from Diarmuid Buckley and Martin Scannell to cut Adare's advantage to four.
However, Adare finished the half strongly with a free and a mark from Bourke seeing them lead by 1-05 to 0-02 at half time.
Fr Caseys needed a fast start to the second half and Eliah Riordan provided the necessary with a long-range free but Adare hit back 60 seconds later through Davy Lyons.
An excellent team move then resulted in a Rory O’Brien fisted effort for Caseys and a Scannell free soon had the deficit back at four.
Caseys then spurned another goal chance when Buckley and Cormac Roche combined to set up a chance for David Ward but his effort cannoned off Roche and away from danger.
The Abbeyfeale men were very much in the ascendancy at this stage with a superb Daniel Daly score and a second for O’Brien making it a two-point game.
Bourke settled Adare nerves with a much-needed score on 48 minutes but Casey kept rolling with another Riordan free from distance.
However, Adare were not to be denied with Bourke landing his fifth point six minutes from the end and the win being confirmed thanks to two points late on from Mikey Lyons.
