Rhasidat Adeleke and Sharlene Mawdsley have been selected in both the Women's and Mixed 4x400m teams for the World Athletics Relays in the Bahamas tonight.

Team Ireland go in search of Olympic qualification in both events, and have named their strongest possible line-ups on Day One at the Thomas A Robinson Stadium in Nassau.

A top-two finish in their respective heats will secure a place in the Paris Games for both sides, as well as passage to Sunday’s final.

Failure to do so would still result in repechage action, with the remaining teams competing for six berths on Sunday.

The Mixed 4x400m team will be the first to take to the track in heat three of their event at 12.27am Irish time.

The team will be led out by Cillin Greene, who will pass the baton to Rhasidat Adeleke, with Thomas Barr third up and Sharlene Mawdsley on the anchor leg.

Less that two hours later it will be the turn of the women’s 4x400m team, who go in heat two at 2:13am.

Sophie Becker will be first up, handing over to Adeleke before Phil Healy takes over with Mawdsley once again running the final leg.
