Tyrone's joint senior football managers, Brian Dooher and Feargal Logan, have stepped down from their shared role.

The joint-bosses of the Red Hand had taken time to consider their futures before deciding whether they would remain on with the county.

The Logan and Dooher axis still had two more years to complete their second three-year term with the Red Hand County.

But now the duo have decided to call time on their tenure, with their record reading had 53 games, 24 wins, 25 losses and four draws.

Tyrone County GAA Chair Martin Sludden said: "They’ve simply made wonderful history for us, time and again, in place after place, and in so many ways.

"Always with style, class, dignity and honour.

"And, very remarkably in the world we’re now in, always as total volunteers to the Tyrone GAA cause."

Having landed an All-Ireland title in a remarkable first season at the wheel in 2021, the Tyrone team failed to maintain that lofty form, exiting this year’s championship with a loss to Roscommon in the All-Ireland preliminary quarter-final.

During the past four years, however, there was a huge turnover of players as the joint managers blooded a plethora of new faces.

The spine of the current team, mostly drawn from the 2015 All-Ireland Under-21 winning team, are now 30-years-old or over.

Tyrone GAA will now move to appoint new senior football management team.

Malachy O’Rourke will be among the top contenders for the position.
