Gold prices in Pakistan reach new record of Rs268,500 per tola

Following a decline in the previous session, gold prices in Pakistan experienced a significant increase on Thursday, mirroring trends in international markets. In the local market, the price of gold per tola rose by Rs800, reaching a new record high of Rs268,500.

Similarly, the price of gold for 10 grams was reported at Rs230,195, marking an increase of Rs685, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA). This uptick comes after a decrease of Rs300 on Wednesday, when gold was priced at Rs267,700.

On the international front, gold prices also surged, with rates reaching $2,577 per ounce (including a premium of $20), reflecting a gain of $8 during the day. In contrast, silver prices remained stable, holding at Rs2,950 per tola.

Earlier this week, gold prices had reached a then-record high of Rs268,000 per tola on Monday, indicating ongoing volatility and demand in the precious metals market.
