The death has been announced of the American singer, dancer, and actress Mitzi Gaynor. She was 93.
The South Pacific star died on Thursday of natural causes, her representatives said in a statement.
The statement read: "For eight decades she entertained audiences in films, on television and on the stage. She truly enjoyed every moment of her professional career and the great privilege of being an entertainer.
"Off stage, she was a vibrant and extraordinary woman, a caring and loyal friend, and a warm, gracious, very funny and altogether glorious human being. And she could cook, too!"

The statement concluded: "We take great comfort in the fact that her creative legacy will endure through her many magical performances captured on film and video, through her recordings and especially through the love and support audiences around the world have shared so generously with her throughout her life and career. Please keep Mitzi in your thoughts and prayers."
Born Francesca Marlene de Czanyi von Gerber in Chicago in September 1931, Mitzi Gaynor began dancing at the age of eight, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Her other big-screen credits included My Blue Heaven, There's No Business Like Show Business, Les Girls, and The Joker Is Wild.
Gaynor also starred in numerous television specials, performed at the Academy Awards several times, headlined in Las Vegas, and became a columnist for The Hollywood Reporter in the 1990s.
She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, the talent agent Jack Bean, who was also her manager. He died in December 2006 at the age of 84.
