The song tells the story of two lovers marked by unconditional and unrequited tendencies.

Speaking about the track, Seán says, "This was one of those songs that I thought was a little simple at first, but it actually lends itself incredibly well to a live band context.

"The chords are simple, the melodies are easy to latch onto, and there's a lot of space to fill. We recorded this in a super old school way, with the rhythm track recorded as one continuous take. It’s like what they did in the 60s, except that we’re doing it on a budget."

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

As the frontman of the Late Bloomers, I was born and raised in Tourmakeady, Co. Mayo, and now I've been in London for two and a half years now. The Late Bloomers are from various parts of the country and we all met at the same uni LCCM. We're planning an Irish tour later this year, so keep an eye out for that!

How would you describe your music?

The music is often very wistful, with elements of quirkiness. A lot of our tracks have a strong harmonic composition, tuneful melodies and a grooving rhythm section. Our new tune, A Thousand Guesses, embodies all of those elements.

Who are your musical inspirations?

There's quite a few. But to name a few; Billy Joel, Mac DeMarco.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

Went to see Lord of the Rings the Twin Towers with the RTE Symphony Orchestra, at the O2. That was some event!

What was the first record you ever bought?

Bought Sgt. Pepper’s when I was 18, still got it.

What’s your favourite song right now?

Been listening to Dancing in the Moonlight by Top Loader recently. Such a tune!

Favourite lyric of all time?

Hard to pick something, but recently, I've been enjoying the lyrics of Fall Back Down by Rancid.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Alone Again (Naturally) by Gilbert O'Sullivan is one of those beautiful compositions, that comes with a warm mix, sentimental lyrics and some lovely arrangements. It's a tune you can listen to again and again.

Where can people find your music/more information?

We're most active on Instagram, follow us there for more music, gig announcements, and generally Late Bloomers content.
