European club football's second-biggest competition has its big day out in Dublin as Atalanta face Bayer Leverkusen (KO 8.00pm) at the Dublin Arena aka Lansdowne Road.

Atalanta are playing in their first European final, having eliminated one of the favourites, Liverpool, in the quarter-finals before defeating Marseille in the last four.

Leverkusen won this tournament under its former guise of the UEFA Cup in 1988 and are having an excellent season this time around.

They have already been crowned German champions and reached this stage after overcoming Roma - and preventing an all-Italian Dublin decider - in the semi-finals.

Given that they're still unbeaten this season, Xabi Alonso's (above) Leverkusen will start as favourites. But Gian Piero Gasperini's side cannot be underestimated.
