Trouble Pilgrims were formed after the late Philip Chevron's illness forced him to retire from performing with The Radiators from Space.

The band’s line-up is Pete, U2 album art designer Steve Rapid, Johnny Bonnie, Tony St Ledger and Bren Lynott.

Trouble Pilgrims have released a number of singles from their two albums, Dark Shadows and Rust and Blood, Glass and Gasoline, and supported acts such as The Undertones, The Boomtown Rats, The Blades and Tom Robinson.

Support for their show at the Grand Social comes from Bitzy and Trouble Pilgrims will also play selected Irish venues in the coming months.

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

I spend a lot of time these days working with extremely talented artists in my studio at Pilgrim Sound, Dublin. Where I also record my own one-hour radio show for Dublin City FM.

Pete Holidai: "I saw The Beatles arriving at a theatre in Fulham and when I saw the screaming girls the 11-year-old me went home and asked my parents for a guitar."

Tony St Ledger and I have been preparing some new Trouble Pilgrim songs for recording and live performance, we might even slip a couple in at the Grand Social. I've always thought of myself as songwriter first, performer second, and after all these years I still enjoy both immensely.

I aspired to be a footballer and even had a trial for Queen’s Park Rangers when they were in the old First Division. That all changed when I saw The Beatles arriving at a theatre in Fulham to record for an American programme called Shindig. When I saw the screaming girls, the 11-year-old me went home and asked my parents for a guitar.
