Tell us three things about yourself...

I'm from Dublin. I'm an only child. I'm a Temple Bar musician as well as a singer-songwriter.

How would you describe your music?

I would describe my songs as very honest, nothing is too dreamy. I like to write about the loss of innocence in people and the journey of discovering who we are.

Who are your musical inspirations?

Lana Del Rey, I think the overall sound on her first releases that took off is so unique and has made a major impact on my writing and singing style. The Police. Whenever I want to write something upbeat, I always think their style is so unique and in general just a really underrated band. Outlandos D'amour is one of my all-time favourite albums. Jefferson Airplane. I used to be obsessed with them when I was about sixteen. I adore Grace Slick's harsh vocals against the psychedelic music of the sixties.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

I saw Hi-Five in The Olympia when I was about seven so technically it was them, but I watched The Coronas do a live set on MTV when I was about 14 and I like to think of that as my first gig.

What was the first record you ever bought?

For the girlies who get it, Breakout by Miley Cyrus.

What's your favourite song right now?

Keep Moving by jungle (I’m obsessed). Self Control by Laura Branigan is also on repeat for sure.

Favourite lyric of all time?

"Rhiannon rings like a bell through the night and wouldn't you love to love her?" Fleetwood Mac.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life what would it be?

She's Always a Woman by Billy Joel, I think it's one of the best love songs ever written.

Alan Corr
