Cian Ducrot welcomes 'incredible' Oasis reunion news

Irish singer-songwriter Cian Ducrot has described the Oasis reunion tour as "potentially the greatest thing to have happened in music for 10 to 15 years".

The Cork star spoke to reporters following a surprise performance - complete with flash-mob choir - at the Dublin Portal this afternoon.

"I think they're one of the greatest bands of all time. I think everybody has been waiting for them to get back together for a very long time.

"Their music is obviously so inspirational and they're incredible songwriters. They're also just very normal people and I think that's something people take away from them," he said.

This afternoon's pop-up event was billed as the first ever multi-city portal performance.

Ducrot is currently one of Ireland's most popular pop artists, having sold out St. Anne's Park, Dublin to 20,000 people and Musgrave Park, Cork to 15,000 during the summer.

This afternoon's pop-up event was billed as the first ever multi-city portal performance, connecting people watching in Dublin, New York, Vilnius in Lithuania and Lublin in Poland.

"It was good! In the last day or so I was just letting people know that something was happening in Dublin. And it was just lovely to see fans who care enough to come down and listen. It's just really special. A magical group of people and it's just fantastic," Ducrot said.
