Liam Payne's girlfriend is at a "complete loss" over the late One Direction singer's death.
Kate Cassidy, 25, had been on holiday with Liam, 31, in Argentina, where they watched his former 1D bandmate Niall Horan's solo show – before she decided after two weeks away, she wanted to return to her home in the US.
She left two days before Liam fell to his death from the balcony of his third-floor room in the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires on Wednesday.
The American actress has now said in a statement on social media about her shock over his passing: "Nothing about the past few days have felt real. I ask and pray that you'll give me the grace and space to navigate this in private.
"Liam, my angel. You are everything. I want you to know I loved you unconditionally and completely.
"I will continue to love you for the rest of my life. I love you Liam."
Liam died from multiple injuries after his balcony fall and was first linked to Kate in October 2022.
The pair made their red-carpet debut as a couple two months later.
Kate said on TikTok in a video about how she was returning home from her holiday with Liam: "Honestly, love South America but I hate staying in one place for too long.
"And we were supposed to be there for, like, five days, turned into two weeks.
"I was just like, 'I need to go home'."
Kate and Liam recently moved into a new home in Florida.
Kate's final Instagram post of the pair together was taken at a wedding weeks before his death.

The couple went to their friends' big day in Paris, with Liam seen in a suit and Kate wearing a yellow off-the-shoulder dress for the nuptials.
She captioned the image: "The most stunning evening, we celebrate the lovebirds."
