Two hotels added to Ireland's prestigious Blue Book collection

Two new luxury destinations have been added to Ireland's Blue Book for 2025.

Now in its 50th year, the Blue Book is a "romantic collection of Irish Country House Hotels, Manor Houses, Castles and Restaurants", according to its website, with locations spanning the length and breadth of the country, varying from serene yoga retreats and stately castles, to manor homes and townhouses. There are currently over 60 locations on the list, including the newest members.

The publication made the announcement this week, revealing that Dromoland Castle in Co Clare and The Station House Hotel in Co Meath are the newest additions to the prestigious list.

Often featured on 'best of' lists both at home and abroad, Dromoland Castle is one of the country's most exclusive 5-star castle hotels, dating back to the 16th century and set amidst 500 acres of woodlands. The site was also the ancestral home of the O'Briens, dating all the way back to Brian Boru himself, Ireland’s most powerful High King, though in recent years you'll be more likely to find A-list celebrities walking its halls.

Located just 50 minutes from the Cliffs of Moher, it's also one of the most luxurious spots to explore the Wild Atlantic Way from.

In contrast to the stately splendour of Dromoland Castle, The Station House is one of the country's most sought after boutique hotels, nestled in the heart of the country's Ancient East and the historic Boyne Valley.

Just 40km from Dublin City centre and Dublin airport, the hotel was originally built in 1862 as a busy railway junction, and was transformed in 1984 into family owned boutique hotel. Since then, it has racked up numerous awards. It has been especially celebrated for its fine dining restaurant, the Signal Restaurant, which features seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.
