Alan Reynolds admits Bohemians are "looking over our shoulder" as they try to peel away from the bottom two, but he's confident his side will get the wins they need to ease any nerves around Dalymount Park.
The Gyspies are just four points ahead of ninth-placed Drogheda United, albeit with a game in hand, after they fell to a 1-0 loss at Shamrock Rovers on Monday night.
Bohs were right in the contest until Graham Burke lashed home a fine winner in the 84th minute.
It leaves them hovering above the Drogs, but boss Reynolds is staying calm as the campaign heads for its climax.
"We have to win games. But we keep working. We don't get too low after a defeat, we don't get too high after a win. It's a good group of lads in there. As you can see they give everything for the cause and the results will come."
Reynolds was frustrated after what he believed was a foul by Neil Farrugia went unpunished in the build-up to the crucial goal.
"I just felt it was a push in the back (from Farrugia on Paddy Kirk)," he added.
"In fairness to the referee he was a bit away, but the linesman is four yards away and he says it's not. I've looked at it there and for me it is a push in the back. Our defender gets there first, touches the ball and he pushes him. I think anywhere else on the field it's a free-kick and I'm disappointed with that."
Overall Reynolds found it hard to criticise his players' efforts; though he did lament a lack of composure in the final third.
"I want us to be better. We're looking for perfection here," he said.
"There was some good stuff. They piled on the pressure at the end, we needed to get a bit of luck, and that free-kick...but you can't ask for any more than that.
"If we were more clinical on the counter-attack, there was a couple of times we were three-v-twos, three-v-ones. A bit of quality and we score."
