Tyrone's Ronan McGinley has been appointed as New York manager for the 2025 season, replacing outgoing boss Alan O'Mara.
McGinley, originally an Errigal Ciaran clubman, played for New York between 2011 and 2017 and joined O'Mara's backroom team as a coach for the 2024 season.
"His deep understanding of the game and strong connection with the New York GAA community make him the ideal person to lead us into the 2025 season," New York said in a statement.
McGinley will retain the services of O'Mara's backroom team, with Jeff Farrell, David McNamara, and Dean O'Donnell all remaining on as selectors.
O'Mara stepped down early last month after one season in charge, the former Cavan goalkeeper disclosing that he was relocating to Pennsylvania to continue his work as a mental performance coach in college and professional sports.
Last season, New York lost their Connacht championship opener to Mayo on a 2-21 to 2-06 scoreline, subsequently losing their Tailteann Cup preliminary quarter-final to Laois on a creditable 1-13 to 1-09 score.
In his first season as manager, McGinley will face a daunting task in the Connacht SFC in 2025, with All-Ireland finalists Galway next up on the rota for the Exiles.
It was under O'Mara's predecessor Johnny McGeeney that New York made their long-awaited breakthrough in the Connacht championship, beating Leitrim on penalties for their first championship victory.
