Dominick Cunningham competed in the senior vault finals on Saturday afternoon, placing fifth in the event at the European Championships in Rimini, Italy.
The 28-year-old had an average score of 13.966, as Great Britain's Jake Jarman won gold, with Armenia's Artur Davtyan and Ukraine's Nazar Chepurny picking up silver and bronze respectively.
"Huge congrats to Dom on his fifth place finish in today's senior European Vault final," said Gymnastics Ireland CEO Ciaran Gallagher.
"The three-place improvement from qualifications in finishing fifth is no surprise given what an experienced competitor he is and it is familiar territory for him as one of the best gymnasts in Europe. Well done to Dom, our national coaches and support staff."
On Friday, Rhys McClenaghan successfully defended his European Championship pommel horse title, winning gold with a score of 15.300.
The women’s event will take place from 2-5 May, with senior Irish gymnasts Blathnaid Higgins, Emma Slevin, Halle Hilton, Lily Russell set to compete, along with junior gymnast Mimi Moloney.
