Former Cork City goalkeeper David Harrington has been added to the Wales squad for the country's upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Turkey and Iceland.
Harrington was called up by then-interim Ireland manager John O'Shea for the June friendlies against Hungary and Portugal, without getting any game-time.
The 24-year-old's father Phil is a Welsh native, who played as a goalkeeper when Cork City won a League of Ireland title in 1992/93.
Harrington Jr was born and raised in Cork but has been on the radar of the Welsh FA for some time. He has impressed for Fleetwood Town after joining the club from Cork City in January 2023, having helped the Rebels to promotion the previous year.
However, Ireland manager Heimir Halgrimsson has opted to go with the trio of Caoimhin Kelleher, Mark Travers and Max O'Leary for the upcoming games against Finland and England.
"David Harrington has been added as a fourth goalkeeper for the #UNL matches against Türkiye and Iceland," said an update on the Wales social media accounts.
Harrington will be training with fellow Danny Ward, Karl Darlow and Tom King during his time in the camp.
Craig Bellamy's squad are second in Nations League B Group 4 after picking up eight points from their opening four games.
