Dani Olmo scored twice as Barcelona blew city rivals Espanyol away in the first half to earn a 3-1 win and move nine points clear at the top of La Liga.

Olmo scored either side of Raphinha's chipped effort for Barca to hold a commanding 3-0 lead heading into the break.

Having had two goals ruled out for offside, Espanyol eventually pulled one back when Javi Puado struck in the 63rd minute but Barca moved further clear at the top following a fourth straight win.

Diego Simeone's son Giuliano scored his first goal for Atletico Madrid to help them return to winning ways with a 2-0 triumph over Las Palmas.

Simeone opened the scoring eight minutes before the break but Atletico were made to wait till the 83rd minute before they could relax as Alexander Sorloth bagged his fourth goal of the season.

Takefusa Kubo's strike and Mikel Oyarzabal's penalty earned Real Sociedad a comfortable 2-0 victory over Sevilla.

Former West Ham midfielder Pablo Fornals scored his first goal of the season to cancel out Alex Berenguer's opener as Real Betis and Athletic Bilbao drew 1-1.

Ademola Lookman scored twice as Atalanta earned a 3-0 win over Serie A leaders Napoli to condemn Antonio Conte's side to a first defeat since the opening day.

Charles De Ketelaere twice set up team-mate Lookman and the former Fulham striker smashed home from 20 yards for his second before Mateo Retegui added the cherry on the cake in stoppage time to secure a fifth straight win for Atalanta.

Lautaro Martinez headed Inter Milan to a 1-0 victory over Venezia amid late drama as they closed the gap to leaders Napoli to just a single point.

The Argentina international's 65th-minute header secured a 1-0 win at the San Siro but Venezia substitute Marin Sverko saw his stoppage-time equaliser chalked off for a handball as they remain in the bottom three.

Roma's miserable start to the season continued after they suffered a 3-2 defeat away at Verona.

Matias Soule and Artem Dovbyk twice equalised to cancel out efforts from Casper Tengstedt and Giangiacomo Magnani but Abdou Harroui scored two minutes from time to snatch the winner before Dailon Livramento was given his marching orders deep into stoppage time.

Mason Greenwood struck a 61st-minute winner as Marseille moved second in Ligue 1 with a 2-1 win over Nantes.

Everton loanee Neal Maupay opened the scoring in the 24th minute before Tino Kadewere levelled matters.

Greenwood got the winner when he let fly from outside the box and his strike buried into the bottom corner to lift Marseille one place behind league leaders PSG.
